Bruce Gibson

Biography 1990
Bruce Gibson received a B.A. (1973) in physics from Pomona College, an M.S. (1975) in geophysics from the University of Hawaii, and a Ph.D. (1989) in geophysics from Rice University. From 1976 to 1984 he worked in the research group at Western Geophysical in Houston. In 1984 he joined the Dept. of Geology/Geophysics at Rice University as a research scientist, where he was involved in various seismic reflection projects until early 1989. He is currently an agricultural specialist with the Red-Wing Partnership in Cambria, CA. He is a member of SEG, EAEG, AGU, and SSA.[1]

B. S. Gibson and A. R. Levander received 1990 Honorable Mention (Geophysics) for their paper Apparent layering in common-midpoint stacked images of two-dimensionally heterogeneous targets,[2]
SEG Best Paper Award Presented at the Annual Meeting 1978
Leslie Hatton, K. L. Larner, and B. S. Gibson received 1978 Best Paper Award for their paper Wave migration of seismic data from inhomogeneous media. Presented at the Annual Meeting.
