Goal | To connect those passionate about the science of applied geophysics and provide the necessary tools to make a difference |
---|---|
Who | All SEG members and participants at the Annual Meeting, regardless of wiki experience |
Location | Room Deck 708, Colorado Convention Center |
Time | 12 – 2pm AND 5 – 6pm October 26-29 |
The 2nd Annual SEG Wikithon will be held 12-2pm and 5-6pm October 26-29 in Denver, CO during the SEG International Exposition and 84th Annual Meeting. This wiki page will contain the latest information about the event.
The SEG Wikithon is an open-house event during which SEG members and staff will connect to refine and launch content around a focused geophysics-related theme(s). That theme(s) will be determined by the SEG Online Technical Content Board and you, using this page. Propose tutorials you would like to see covered during the event to the schedule below. See you in Denver!

Pages needing attention
Biographies
Many of the biographies of SEG pioneers are in need of polishing. This includes help with -
- Spacing
- Adding information to the infobox (box that appears in the top right of the page)
- Combine biography sections that repeat content, remove repeating content
- Add direct links to SEG library of articles and publications mentioned in bio
- Clean up paragraphs as necessary, this includes making lists, removing references from section titles, etc.
Below are examples of pages that we believe are strong entries to follow as examples.
- Example during training - A bio example after it has been edited | That same bio before it was edited
- Nice biography - J. Clarence Karcher
- More specific examples in need of gardening
Stubs
A stub is an article containing only a few sentences of text which is too short to provide encyclopedic coverage of a subject. Help us grow the wiki by expanding short articles here.
