Surface seismic is a method of seismic acquisition in which both the seismic source and sensors are at the surface of the Earth. There are basically two types of seismic survey, one is surface seismic and another is borehole seismic survey. In borehole seismic we have either of the seismic source or sensor is at the borehole. But in case of surface seismic we have both sensor and source at the surface of the Earth, which may be offshore or onshore.
