SEG Student Chapter Cracow is a part of the Student Geophysical Society GEOFON at Faculty of Geology, Geophysics and Environmental Protection at AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow, Poland.

The Society brings together students who wish to expand their knowledge about geophysical methods. Not only theoretical studies are performed but also many field works. What is more results of both are presented at international and national student presentation sessions.

We are forming student chapters for such organizations as Society of Exploration Geophysicists, European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers and American Association of Petroleum Geologists. This way we keep up to date with the latest geosciences trends as well as gain from research projects and many other activities.

The purpose was to combine the international character of our chapter and tradition of our university and Cracow as one of the biggest and oldest cities in Europe. We decided to place on it the St. Mary's Church as the most recognizable symbol of Cracow and Ormsby's Signal as a symbol of seismics. The logo is decorated with dark and grey colors in the association with oil and gas. Now our Chapter is easily recognizable by the original and outstanding graphic design. Our logo constitutes a profile photo on facebook and on the segwiki.
