SEG Best Paper in Geophysics Award 1977

F. K. Levin and P. M. Shah received the 1977 SEG Best Paper in Geophysics Award for their paper Peg-leg multiples and dipping reflectors.[1]

Biography 1977[2]

Pravin M. Shah, a native of India, had his undergraduate education in civil engineering there before coming to Rice University, Houston in 1962. At Rice he obtained an M.S. degree in 1964 and a Ph.D. degree in 1968, both in civil engineering. He later joined Exxon Production Research Co. and is presently a senior research specialist in the Stratigraphic Exploration Division. He is an associate member of SEG.

SEG Best Paper in Geophysics Award 1973

Pravin M. Shah received the 1973 SEG Best Paper in Geophysics Award for his paper Use of wavefront curvature to relate seismic data with subsurface parameters.[3]
