Kyle T. Spikes received a Ph.D. (2008) in geophysics from Stanford University. Currently, he is an assistant professor of geophysics in the Department of Geological Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin. His research interests include integration of geologic inferences with rock phys- ics and quantitative seismic interpreta- tion. These interests have to lead projects for shale characterization, CO2 sequestration, and forward numerical wave propagation methods. He is a member of SEG, EAGE, and AAPG.
