Luke Pinson, Timothy Henstock, Justin Dix, and Jonathan Bull received 2008 Honorable Mention (Geophysics) for their paper Estimating quality factor and mean grain size of sediments from high-resolution marine seismic data.
Jonathan Bull is professor of geophysics and deputy head of the School of Ocean and Earth Sciences at the University of Southampton, based at the National Oceanography Centre, Southampton, U. K. His main research interests are related to understanding active faulting in geographic areas as diverse as Iceland, Greece, and New Zealand, mainly by application of marine geophysical methods. He also develops new technology suitable for imaging the shallow (top 50 m) subseabed, and he led the 3D chirp project at the University of Southampton
