Guy G. Drijkoningen received his MSc (1985) from Delft University of Technology and his PhD (1989) from Cambridge University, United Kingdom. In 1985 he was awarded the Shell Scholarship. In 1990 he was a post-doctoral fellow in the geophysics laboratory at Cambridge University. Since 1991 he has been an assistant professor, and from 2003 onwards associate professor at Delft University. Since 2006 he is director of the Geophysics application of LOFAR. His research interests are mainly in seismic data acquisition, in shallow seismic (mainly S-wave seismic), and seismic modelling. He (co-)authored 51 peer-reviewed journal papers. He has supervised 11 PhD’s and is currently supervising 4 PhD’s. He is a member of SEG (including Associate Editor of Geophysics for Seismic Data Acquisition) and EAGE (including member of the Research Committee). Together with a PhD student and 2 other co-authors, he received the Best-Paper Award for Geophysics over 2015[1].
