Frank Adler, Reda Baina, Mohamed Amine Soudani, Pierre Cardon, and Jean-Baptiste Richard received 2008 Honorable Mention (Geophysics) for their paper Nonlinear 3D tomographic least-squares inversion of residual moveout in Kirchhoff prestack-depth-migration common-image gathers.
Frank Adler received an M.Sc. (1993) in geophysics from Karlsruhe University, Germany, and a Ph.D. (1996) from l’Université de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour, France. In 1997, he joined CGG in London as a research geophysicist working on seismic velocity analysis. In 2001, he moved to Schlumberger Cambridge Research as a senior research scientist on the seismic acquisition and processing team. In 2003, he joined Total as R & D project leader for seismic tomography. Since 2007, Adler has been a seismic interpreter on a subsalt exploration team. His professional interests include seismic processing, depth imaging, velocity analysis, tomography, inverse problems, seismic interpretation, and geology. He is a member of SEG and EAGE.
