(p∂r m∂ tiv’ ∂d ē) Capacitivity (q.v.) of a 3D material, such as a dielectric. Relative permittivity is the dimensionless ratio of the permittivity of a material to that of free space; it is also called the dielectric constant. See dielectric permittivity.
