Information about the direction from which an event approaches the spread, specifically the component outside the plane of the section (i.e., outside of a vertical plane that includes the line). The objective is to determine the orientation of the reflector in space; see Figure C-19. Cross information is obtained with cross-spreads, from intersecting seismic lines, from crooked-line data, or in other ways.
