Arkady M. Aizenberg is senior scientific researcher at the Trofimuk Institute of Petroleum Geology and Geophysics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Novosibirsk. Since the early 1980s, he has been at the forefront of the development of an analytic description of seismic wavefields in 3D heterogeneous layered and block media. He introduced a concept of a tip-wave beam composed from reflected/transmitted waves and associated edge and tip waves. In the early 2000s, Aizenberg introduced the generalization of the Weyl spectral representation for wavefields propagating near curved interfaces in heterogeneous acoustic and elastic media. Aizenberg graduated from Novosibirsk State University in 1971 and received a Ph.D. in geophysics in 1994 from the Supreme Certifying Commission of the Russian Federation.
